The Anointing 1979 - I'm hitch hiking in the backwoods of Northern Ontario, 19 years old , no job, no social life, when this mysterious stranger comes along and picks me up. I don't remember his name but he described himself as a carpenter from London, Ontario. I guess he noticed that I was less than impressed with life because he was getting quite deep in conversation and proceeded to tell me about his life with the Lord. He asked me if I wanted to be anointed and I, in all my unharnessed wisdom said "sure, why not?". Well he stopped his truck right there on the side of this old logging road and slapped this anointed music in the tape deck and proceeded to pray for me. He dropped me off at home about a half hour later and I never saw him again. I felt pretty good, for the next couple of weeks, having this new found faith but I had nobody to share it with. As time went on I lost sight of the Lord and explored other spiritual avenues. I actually went into some pretty dark places, but you know, If God wants you He will not let you go without a fight. I'll expand on this topic later.

ESP 1976 - My best friend, Doug Pettit and I were a couple of teenagers with nothing to do on a hot summers day when one of us came up with the great idea of experimenting with ESP. So Doug was the first one to think of an object and I closed my eyes and concentrated. all I saw was a diamond with a 4 in the center. I told Doug this and he said "no I was thinking of the lawn mower over across the yard. Upon further examination we looked closely and found a sticker on the side of the motor with a diamond with a 4 in the middle. Needless to say this kind of blew our minds so we tried it again. This time I saw a silhouette of a house. It turns out that Doug was thinking of a real estate sign on the neighbors lawn that actually had a silhouette of a house on it. Well we were totally freaked out at this point and thought best to leave this thing alone. However it turns out that we learned that we could clean up at pictionary.

The Eccentric American 2000 -2001 - Dale Smith was a regular customer at Mail Boxes Etc. in North Bay, Ontario. He was a chatty, kind of know it all kind of guy from Wala Wala, Washington or from rural Alaska. He changed the location depending on the topic of discussion and who he was talking to. He came into the store one day to pick up his mail and noticed that I was doing some graphics work and immediately took interest. He explained to me that he dealt in intellectual properties and he needed to have some place cards made up for his "unique" filing system. I obliged him and whipped up a half dozen cards with graphics in about 2 hours. He was quite impressed with this and offered me a contract job working exclusively for him. He spoke of big dollars and a much improved lifestyle. After running the idea past my wife and giving it much deliberation, I decided to quit Mail Boxes Etc. and work for Dale Smith. Dale had leased an office space in a downtown North Bay building and set up shop. Alarms immediately began to sound when I discovered he didn't have a computer to do the graphics on. He talked me into bringing my own in until he got the G4 Mac and Pentium 3 complete with Xerox colour laser printer and other peripherals. He told me to expect approximately $10,000.00 per month and I worked the first month for 1,500.00 which wasn't bad considering I was only working 8 hours per week. This routine went on for three months when suddenly one day he stopped showing up at the office. He had disappeared and was never seen again in the North Bay area. I don't know if Dale Smith was his real name or not, and I don't know where he got his money from, but if you meet someone who fits this description please tell him he still owes me $34500.00.
